What if the next big thing in search intelligence will not be developed by Google?
As deeply described in this article , Google takes lots of efforts to know and understand its users better by following all their internet activities through various products and services.

But accorcing to real intelligence, like for answering questions, it is way behind optimal results.

Secretly, yet unattended by the media, a start-up company in beta-status developed a stunning search-engine offering right this: Real answers to real questions!

The Cambridge/UK based company [true knowledge] developed a stunning mechanism/algorithm to go far beyond everything seen on search development yet.

In their own words:

Our technology addresses one of the fundamental problems in internet search: namely that computers (unlike humans) cannot understand the content of web pages. As a result, finding information in the early 21st century still involves a process of guessing keywords that may appear in an appropriate web page and hoping that a search engine retrieves

Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin Larry Page and Sergey Brin - Google Founders announced that their aim with Google is to one day make it possible, that Google can answer real questions.

A forecast of how such could look is displayed in this video, showing a kid asking “Google Brain” for a picture of a pizza:

Another approach of Google is to make it possible to suggest individuals what they could possible choose as a job, what shall they do next, which could be suitable friends for them.

How could this be achieved?

Well, if we take a close look on what services Google offers now, all consolidated in a single Google Account, it becomes clear that Read the rest of this entry »

As recently shown on Googles YouTube Channel, Google sets the limits to what a spreadsheet application can do and can’t do to a further border.

By inclusion of the immense knowledge of the Google Search Index it empowers users of Google Spreadsheets to do increadible researches at the flick of a switch.

Videos tell more than a thousand words, so see for yourself:

Unfortunatly, untill now I have not been able to reproduce the procedure shown in the video yet, as Google Spreadsheets doesn’t auto-fill the cells like shown in the video.

Anybody got an idea what I am doing wrong?

Guys, this is gonna be BIG! You gotta immediately check out the Musicovery.com mood-dependent web radio

Musicovery Web RadioFor me as a webdevolper, this is one of the most impressive sites I have seen for a while.
Why is it so cool?
Well, the idea behind it is: You enter the site, choose your favorite genres and then set your mood in a “mood-matrix” ranging from calm to energetic, from dark to positiv.
You can even set a time-range of what decades’ tunes to play!

The site runs a stunning flash-GUI and is hosted on Amazon’s S3 servers.
To monetize the project, the developers employ the usual suspects: Google AdWords, Amazon + iTunes + ebay affiliate links.
A real Web2.0-ish high-quality project. Well done! Word!

This is gonna be a short post. Cause pictures say it all.
As recently announced by Reuters, George W. Bush dared to go and visit the vets of Iraq war.

While browsing their slideshow I found the following to be the most insane picture of all (click to enlarge):

George W. Bush and injured vets from Iraq war

While watching this pic you might think “Can he get any more crazy, presenting a T-Shirt to an obvious war-victim?” But hold on, you’re wrong! In fact it’s the vet who offers the T-Shirt to bush.

That’s how we like our army, patriotic to death…

What if this years Christmas tree looks brighter than ever? What if singing Christmas songs turns to a real obsession? Why doesn’t the goose taste at all this year?
Well, maybe you have been presented some toys named “Bindeez” by the Australian company “Moose” (manufacturing in China, of course).Bindeez The secret about all this: The bubbles in some of the toy-sets contain the designer-drug Liquid Ecstasy!
Seems like some burned out Chinese employee swapped the cartons of the ingredients while doing his 18hour shift, haha :-D

Nevertheless, it’s a serious thing. The countries affected are Read the rest of this entry »

As found in the Daily Mail , scientists claim that

“The human race will one day split into two separate species, an attractive, intelligent ruling elite and an underclass of dim-witted, ugly goblin-like creatures, according to a top scientist.

100,000 years into the future, sexual selection could mean that two distinct breeds of human will have developed.

The alarming prediction comes from evolutionary theorist Oliver Curry from the London School of Economics, who says that the human race will have reached its physical peak by the year 3000.”

Evolution of mankind?

After re-thinking this topic, it appeared to me that it might be true.

The major idea behind this conclusion is the following:
It is clear to everyone that sexual desire make us choose partners of a certain beauty. So if we see it in a long term relation, it might be that the beautiful people among us will even become more beautiful by continious breeding with other pretty humans. While the less pretty people might have to take the “left-overs” instead.

What do you think about it?
Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.
