On December 7th at 7pm we are going to have an unveiling event at the
Music Hall of Williamsburg. If you’re in NYC it would be great if you
could attend (RSVP at http://bit.ly/boxeebetanyc).

In case you can’t make it to the event you’ll be able to tune in to a live stream (provided by LiveStream.com) at http://blog.boxee.tv
or directly on Boxee (we’ve worked with Cliqset to overlay messaging onto the stream so you’ll be able to chat about Boxee
while you’re watching Boxee on Boxee. woah.) We’ll make a recommendation for this App on the day of the event.

At the event we will demo the new Beta, launch new applications and start
a 4-week early-access for users to test the Beta before we Read the rest of this entry »

Amazing work! Makes you see the world different. You’ll get it when you watch it. Enjoy!

Kapitaal (Capital) is a project based animation made for Museum De Beyerd, Dutch Museum for Graphic Design. Kapitaal is a typographical stroll throug a Dutch city revealing the influence of graphic design.

Kapitaal typo-animation by the order of the Beyerd Museum. Kapitaal is an impression of the enormous amount of stimuli that we are harassed by every day. The amount is so big that its commercial effectiveness has become utterly dubious. Directors / animation : Ton Meijdam, Thom Snels, Béla Zsigmond

Simply magic toy

“Todays magic is tomorrow’s science”… as we always say here at ThinkGeek. Now you can get a bit of magic for yourself with this amazing Fly Stick Van de Graaff Levitation Wand.

This battery powered wand features a mini Van de Graaff generator inside. Push a button on the handle and the static charge built up in the wand causes the included 3D mylar shapes to levitate at your command. You can also do some cool tricks causing the shapes to jump back and forth from your hand to the wand. Not quite Harry Potter… but hey, we do our best for you. Awesome!

Yes We Can – Barack Obama Music Video by will.i.am

It was a creed written into the founding documents that declared the destiny of a nation.

Yes we can.

It was whispered by slaves and abolitionists as they blazed a trail toward freedom.

Yes we can.

It was sung by immigrants as they struck out from distant shores and pioneers who pushed westward against an unforgiving wilderness.

Yes we can.

It was the call of workers who organized; women who reached for the ballots; a President who chose the moon as our new frontier; and a King who took us to the mountaintop and pointed the way to the Promised Land.

Yes we can to justice and equality.

Yes we can to opportunity and prosperity.

Yes we can heal this nation.

Yes we can repair this world.

Yes we can.

We know the battle ahead will be long, but always remember that no matter what obstacles stand in our way, nothing can stand in the way of the power of millions of voices calling for change.

We have been told we cannot do this by a chorus of cynics…they will only grow louder and more dissonant ……….. We’ve been asked to pause for a reality check. We’ve been warned against offering the people of this nation false hope.

But in the unlikely story that is America, there has never been anything false about hope.

Now the hopes of the little girl who goes to a crumbling school in Dillon are the same as the dreams of the boy who learns on the streets of LA; we will remember that there is something happening in America; that we are not as divided as our politics suggests; that we are one people; we are one nation; and together, we will begin the next great chapter in the American story with three words that will ring from coast to coast; from sea to shining sea –

Yes. We. Can.

Oh, how have we been waiting for this!
While MySpace remains not much more than a kindergarden, serving the profiles of it’s 130 million registered users and resulting in a “everyone gotta have a MySpace site”, it became unpopular and unpersonal for many people.

Quarterlife Artist Community
Okay, you still can get lots of traffic and profile views on MySpace, BUT does your friends list really contain (only) your friends? Most likely you will do it like any other: Get as much “friends” as possible to increase your profile views and popularity.

So, time for something fresh and new!

What about a community that is dedicated to artists, musicians, writers and directors exclusively ? What if this community offers a high-quality profile-layout and administration? What about uploading more songs than the four allowed on MySpace (or even unlimited)? Read the rest of this entry »

What if the next big thing in search intelligence will not be developed by Google?
As deeply described in this article , Google takes lots of efforts to know and understand its users better by following all their internet activities through various products and services.

But accorcing to real intelligence, like for answering questions, it is way behind optimal results.

Secretly, yet unattended by the media, a start-up company in beta-status developed a stunning search-engine offering right this: Real answers to real questions!

The Cambridge/UK based company [true knowledge] developed a stunning mechanism/algorithm to go far beyond everything seen on search development yet.

In their own words:

Our technology addresses one of the fundamental problems in internet search: namely that computers (unlike humans) cannot understand the content of web pages. As a result, finding information in the early 21st century still involves a process of guessing keywords that may appear in an appropriate web page and hoping that a search engine retrieves
